| All learning providers expected to sign the Skills Pledge |
|
The Secretary of State for Skills, John Denham, has told a civil servants conference that he expects all providers of outsourced public services to commit themselves to the Government s Skills Pledge.
The pledge, which was introduced last year as part of the Leitch review recommendations, requires companies and organisations to publicly declare their commitment to support all employees in developing basic skills and working towards relevant qualifications. All central government departments have signed up and Mr Denham believes that the initiative should now extend down the whole of the supply chain for the delivery of public services, including providers own suppliers.
