What is an Apprenticeship?

ImageApprenticeships are a great way to employ new staff, safe in the knowledge that they will gain the specific skills needed to benefit your company. Apprenticeships are nationally designed training programmes for 16-24 year-olds who have left fulltime education or are already in employment.

ImageTraining is delivered through a combination of (1) classroom-led learning by a training provider and (2) on-the-job training by the employer. The training provider will provide the knowledge and develop the skills, and the employer provides the practical experience to put those skills to the test, providing the evidence for completion of the NVQ component. Training can be classroom based, in a workshop or in the workplace, depending on the subject and on the training provider. All external training is delivered to standards set by employer representative bodies. There are over 30 training providers around the Bradford area offering 28 different courses. A full list is available in the inside of the leaflet.
